Requisites:
– Fluency in reading Arabic – mandatory
– Intermediate-to-advanced understanding of Fiqh and Uṣūl al-Fiqh – mandatory
– Understanding of Ḥanafī Fiqh and Uṣūl al-Fiqh – mandatory
– Participation in the study of volume one from the book (link) – mandatory**

This course is for students and graduates with advanced comprehension of Arabic language and those who have studied the disciplines of Islamic law at an advanced level. Course Objectives
In this course, participants are invited to discuss the early development of Hanafi Usul and whether the status quo of classical Usul writing is an accurate reflection of what the Imams of the School intended. Thereafter, participants engage in readings from the book.

Lessons may not necessarily run in the same order as the above schedule, though each topic will be covered in full before the next one is tackled.
Proposed Timings & Length:
Estimated run time of 40 hours of tuition over an estimated figure of 20-25 lessons over 18 months. Anything beyond the 40 hours will be assigned to a follow-up course, though every effort will be made to cover as much ground as possible.
There are no fixed and regular time allocated for lessons – each class will be announced in advance of the lesson. This is for developing research and maintaining the quality of the course as some sections will require extensive preparation.
The first lessons are expected to take place in the new Islamic year, in Muharram 1445 AH – July 29 & July 30, 2023
