Arabic Legacy: Ma’ānī Al-Naḥw 1
– The first of two terms of an intermediate course explaining one of the best modern texts in Arabic grammar – Ma’ānī Al-Naḥw by Dr. Fādil Al-Samarrāī
The selected text is a unique work as the author has benefited from a number of classical works in Arabic language such as Sibawaih’s “Al-Kitab”, Ibn Ya’ish’s explanation of Zamakhshariy’s “Al-Mufassal”, and other works. He has also contributed with his own unique take on different issues, seeking to point out minute differences and subtleties in expressions.
Who is the author?
Two terms (each term will be 11 or 12 weeks, with two lessons weekly)
Curriculum: Ma’ānī Al-Naḥw by Dr. Fādil Al-Samarrāī, with supplementary material from other texts.
Objective: An in-depth study of Arabic grammar, linguistic devices, style, and expression.
Prerequisites:
This course is for students that have a basic background in Arabic, having completed any beginner’s text such as: Al-‘Arabiyyatu Baina Yadaika, Al Ajrumiyyah, Mulhat Al ‘Irab, their explanations, or the Madinah book series, etc.

This is an On-Demand course where you can download video of the sessions at your convenience. It is not a live course. There is a group to ask questions and interact with the instructor.
Each session is ~ 1.5 hr max.
We recommend that attendees set aside 1 to 2 hours extra outside of the class for readings and optional assignments.
